FEMALE RUNNERS

Our aim is to open up our events to as many people as possible. We want to strike the right balance and encourage everyone in equal measure. Our inclusivity policy sets out how we try to do this.

We also want to activity encourage women and we have committed to follow SheRACES guidelines since June 2022. This policy sets out clearly how we do this.

40% of our start line were women in 2023.

Please contact us if you have any ideas about how we can improve. We want to hear from you.

Equality

  • Our photos, event coverage and results will celebrate you.

  • The results will be split by male and female finishers.

  • If you podium, you will receive the same prizes as men.

  • You will have the option of a unisex and female fit tee. You can see the design in advance and a female fit size guide will also be available to help you make the right choice.

CUT OFF TIMES

  • We have generous cut-off times that are based on a pace of 3 miles per hour (or 2.5 miles per hour for our 50 km ultra), to help you if you are a beginner and/or you need to do a lot of walking.

  • We do not have cut-off times at checkpoints. You can run your race at your pace.

  • We provide you with a pace chart on every event page so that you can discover how long it could take you to complete an event.

  • When you finish the flags will still be flying, regardless when you cross the finish line. You deserve to receive the same experience as everyone else. If you arrive with 10 minutes to spare, you are 10 minutes early.

Changing room and toilet facilities

  • We provide separate male and female toilets at the start and finish of every event.

  • There are toilets are available at at least 2 separate locations along the route of every ultra marathon event.

  • We provide separate male and female changing rooms at the start and finish of the Chalkland Way Ultra and Yorkshire Wolds Ultra.

  • We provide separate male and female showers at the finish of the Chalkland Way Ultra and Yorkshire Wolds Ultra.

  • Menstrual products will be available at registration and at all checkpoints.

Tolerance

  • During our race brief we will remind everyone about behavior, tolerance and etiquette during the race brief.

Continuous improvement

  • We will contact you after the event has taken place to ask for your feedback, so that we can encourage you and other women to flourish at our events.

Pregnancy

  • For events that take place in 2024: If you discover you are pregnant and can no longer take part, contact us up to 4 weeks before the event takes place and we will refund you in full, excluding the cost of ‘XCover’.

  • For events that take place in 2025: you cancel your entry yourself via SiEntries and receive a 90% card refund within 5 working days of cancellation. The difference covers the SiEntries fees that we incur. This option is available for everyone.

Breastfeeding

  • If you are breastfeeding then please contact us if you have any specific needs, so that we can plan ahead.
